IALP Occupational Voice Taskforce – Call for Applications

Deadline: 15 October 2026

The IALP Occupational Voice Taskforce is being established following recent discussions with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to advance occupational voice as a significant workplace health and prevention issue.

The Taskforce will bring together IALP members from across the world to strengthen the international evidence base, map current policy and legislation, advance workplace prevention, and drive the inclusion of occupational voice within occupational health, safety and disease frameworks.

Eligibility for nomination

Nominees should:

  • Be a current individual member of IALP or willing to join (Join Here)
  • Have demonstrated experience, expertise or a strong professional interest in occupational voice and/or work-related voice disorders.
  • Bring relevant experience from one or more areas, which may include:
    • clinical practice
    • research or academia
    • occupational or public health
    • workplace health and safety or ergonomics
    • prevention and health promotion
    • epidemiology
    • policy, legislation or workers’ compensation
    • professional, workplace or public advocacy.
  • Be willing and able to allocate sufficient time to actively contribute to the Taskforce, including attending meetings, undertaking agreed work between meetings, and participating in at least one working group.

Nominees are asked to send to the IALP CEO at ialp_ceo@ialpglobal.org:

  • Name, country, profession and current position/organisation
  • Confirmation of current IALP membership
  • Brief statement of relevant experience/expertise in occupational voice or related areas (max. 200 words)
  • What they would bring to the Taskforce (max. 100 words)
  • Preferred area of contribution: evidence/research; policy/occupational health; or prevention/clinical practice/advocacy
  • Confirmation that they have the capacity to actively participate, including meetings and work between meetings

Selection considerations

The Taskforce will comprise up to 30 members. Selection will seek to achieve:

  • Broad international representation, with participation from as many countries and world regions as practicable, including high-, middle- and low-income settings.
  • A balance of clinical, research/academic, occupational health, public health and policy expertise, recognising that clinical and practical experience is as important as academic expertise.
  • Representation from different professional disciplines relevant to occupational voice.
  • Experience across a range of occupational voice-user groups and employment sectors, including but not limited to education.
  • Inclusion of members able to provide country-specific knowledge of occupational health systems, workplace practices, legislation, policy and/or advocacy.
  • An appropriate balance of experience and perspectives across the Taskforce as a whole.

Nominees are not expected to meet all these criteria. Selection will be based on the collective expertise, experience and geographical diversity required to create a genuinely multidisciplinary and internationally representative Taskforce.

Deadline for submissions: 15th October 2026

Vanessa Ebejer,
